Three-star Michelin chef Michel Roux launches his first restaurant in Asia at the new Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, which opened this summer in Danang City
La Maison 1888, scheduled to launch Dec. 12, will offer French cuisine in a colonial-style mansion overlooking scenic Monkey Mountain.
Roux, a French native well-known in Europe for his classic culinary expertise, opened the three-star Le Gavroche in Britain in 1967 and later the Waterside Inn, also in Britain. Le Gavroche became a Michelin three-star restaurant in the '80s, although it has since dropped back to two. Chefs such as Gordon Ramsay and Marco Pierre White have trained with Roux.
The Intercontinental perches on the hills of Vietnam’s Son Tra Peninsula, close to the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Hue, Hoi An and My Son.
